Prepping A 7.3L Power Stroke For 4-Second 1/8-Mile’s

Brian Jelich’s 2000 F-350 is far from the street-driven Super Duty it once was, but that’s because it’s literally on the cusp of running 4-second eighth-miles. To push his HEUI-fired 7.3L Power Stroke that quickly through the ‘660, Brian’s horsepower recipe will call for plenty of nitrous. To accommodate his N2O needs, he’ll rely on the Snyder Performance Engineering nitrous manifold shown here, a precision-machined, 6061 billet-aluminum piece that boasts optimized -8 ORB ports for unrestricted flow and even distribution. Aside from this go-fast update, Brian also performed a few safety upgrades in the form of head supports from Kirkey Racing and a new 5-point racing harness.

Grudge Racing Comes To The NHRDA

While we’re on the subject of fast Fords, it looks like KC Turbo’s Charlie Fish (the owner of the truck that holds the 6.0L eighth-mile record of 5.12 at 134 mph) is about do a little grudge racing. With talks of grudge races being a possibility at the NHRDA Diesels in the Desert event on March 7th, Fish is fixing to call out a Cummins owner or two to line up next to his street-driven 6.0L. Squeezing this kind of action into NHRDA events could be a great way to attract more racers and spectators—as well as provide a welcomed change of pace from all the organized classes. We look forward to seeing it!

Indoor Tractor And Truck Pulling From Kentucky

The annual Championship Tractor Pull was held in Louisville last week. As part of the nightly activities that followed each day of the 4-day National Farm Machinery Show, tractors and trucks took to the dirt inside the Kentucky Exposition Center’s Freedom Hall. Among the 11 classes that were spread out over the four-day period, the coveted 10,200-pound Pro Stock category stood out, with 48 of the 4,500+ hp monsters hooking to the sled. In 2025, Reese Shelton’s “Cuttin’ Down” International 1066 stole the show, marking the first time a red tractor had won Pro Stock in Louisville since 2009. Ten Super Stock Diesel 4x4 Trucks also made the trek to Louisville, with Caroline Counce Armistead earning the win in the “Dixie Ram” Dodge. Brad Hartman’s “International Addiction” Limited Pro Stock is pictured.

Lights Out 16 Is Coming…And So Are The Diesels

Orlando today, South Georgia Motorsports Park tomorrow. Radial tire diesel racers Ryan Milliken and Rod MacMaster were on hand at the Dix Performance North Ltd. show over the weekend. After displaying their fire-breathing hot-rods—Milliken’s X275 Nova and MacMaster’s Radial vs. The World Corvette—both drivers loaded their Cummins-powered gas-slayers in their boxes and headed north to Adel, GA. Lights Out 16 will mark one of the first races MacMaster’s C7 ‘Vette has seen since its brush with the wall back in 2023. Luckily for diesel lovers, it’s packing a host of updates now—not to mention considerably more horsepower.

Readying A Cummins For 3,000 HP

King of The Street and former UCC contender, David Petrick, has another nasty Cummins going together at his favorite machine shop, New Performance Automotive. This time around, it looks like 3,000+ hp at the wheels is the goal—and judging from this picture the goal is to do it on a factory, cast-iron Cummins block. With a reputation for putting up big numbers on the rollers (as much as 2,788-rwhp so far), Petrick has made huge progress since going all-in on the competition side of things roughly eight years ago. His blue ’07 crew cab, short bed Dodge remains one of the most recognizable dyno melter's in the industry.

Dark Horse Mustang VS Charger EV

Stellantis has touted the new Charger EV Scat Pack as a vehicle superior to everything else on the market. Well, MotorTrend wanted to see if that was true or not, and long story short, they said the Dark Horse was better. The two vehicles tested: a 5.0L Coyote powered Mustang Dark Horse, and the new Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, a full plug in EV with AWD. The Mustang was making 500 hp and 418 ft-lb, at 4028 lbs. The Charger, 670 hp and 627 ft-lb, but at a much heavier 5916 lbs curb weight. Both cars held their own very well, with the Mustang named the winner. MotorTrend was quoted as saying this about the Dark Horse: “capable of hanging with many of the rest of the world’s great sports car. Its front end has so much bite and grip and its chassis is so well-sorted and composed that a skilled driver can easily hang the Dark Horse onto the bumper of a Porsche or BMW on a curvy back road or take it to a track day and make no apologies. It’s a muscle car, but it’s also very much more.”
