The fit and finish of the actual hose and adapter are great! Not a fan of the location of the IAT sensor. Have to have it in just the right place to clear the fan shroud and intake resonator if you want the SPE logo to be seen. I have done any experimenting with orientation but, if possible, I would put the IAT location opposite of the SPE logo so it would be directly at the bottom. Thatās my only complaint, otherwise, great product.

One of the best an easiest installs you will do other than the EGR/DPF Delete. This product far exceeds everything about OEM one, except for the OEM sensor port! I personally didnāt like the position or the fitting. The sensor had a very loose fit when locking in place. An the location seemed awkward if you have the other three ports accessible. Other than that, i love this product!

I purchased the SPE Motorsport Cold Side Pipe which uses an anodized throttle body adapter and flexible 5-ply silicone hose. The adapter has multiple ports that gives you the ability to add other sensors to the boost at any time to read boost reference. The The 6.7L Diesel engine has a cold side intercooler pipe the 5-ply hoseĀ increases reliability, durability, and performance. The kit includes a billet anodized aluminum throttle adapter with 3 reference ports. The throttle body adapter retains the factory air intake valve thusĀ allowing you to retain your truck's factory emissions components, thus making for an effortless install. In the picture, you can see the sensor and wires sticking up from the adapter.Ā The throttle body is now aluminum instead of the factory composite. Another major change to the hose is the increase in diameter going up to 3ā from the factory 2.5ā designed billet aluminum throttle body adapter.
The kit contains: Silicone hose, Anodized throttle body adapter, O-Ring, T-Bolt Clamps (2), NPT Plugs (3)
I went out for a 150-mile test trip to see if all of these mods working together are improving MPG, driving at 77mph with the engine running at 1,800 RPM in 6th gear using 18-inch tires, all of the different mods together has increased the mileage from 15 to 19 mpg. A 2,100 road trip this year to Pittsburgh will be proof that this increase in MPG has been impacted by changing out OEM parts with after-market replacement upgrades. That has been the goal from the start is to increase MPG, a 4,000 mile round way trip at 15 mpg using $4 per gallon fuel equals $1,066.67. Increasing the MPG to 19 decreases the cost to $842.11. A savings of $224.56. Paying $5 a gallon saves $280.70 on your round trip. I replaced the diesel fuel tank that increased the tank size to 68 gallons or an additional 20 gallon increase. On a road trip that allows you to skip high fuel taxes in some states, the difference between $2.92 per gallon in Texas versus Pennsylvania at $4.15. That 19 mpg times a 68-gallon tank is over 1,200 between fill-ups. Back East that is a couple of states you can drive right thru with no need for any fuel stops.

As can be seen here, I had the cracks of death on my OE Ford Cold Side Charge Pipe. The OE pipe made a mess.
Replaced it with the SPE unit. Perfect fit, easy install, fixed the problem. While you're under the hood fixing the pipe, consider cleaning/replacing the MAP sensor and the CAT sensor.

I am not a mechanic, but was able to install the pipe. Not realizing how little room there is to snake the pipe around the power steering reservoir I found it a bit difficult to start the pipe onto the lower end. But once installed it fit perfectly with adequate clearance around the pipe. It works as expected and appears to be far more substantial than the factory installed pipe.

My original cold side pipe gave out on me while heading home, once I arrived, I popped the hood to see why I had a check engine light, the dang pipe had multiple cuts on it from west and tear, lucky it got me home in one piece in AZ heat! There are two reasons I didn't give it five stars is that the intercooler side of the hose was ridiculously difficult to install. 1.)There isn't much room to install it in my '17 F250. If the diameter of the hose on the intercooler side was slight bigger, it would be easier to install. 2)I had to reuse the factory spring clip. For the price, it should have a new spring clip. Even Sinister Diesel includes one in their kit.

Fit and finish is great. Took me an hour to remove the factory pipe, clean up the ends, and assemble and install the new pipe. I especially like the high-quality clamps that were included and that the factory retaining ring drops right in. Would recommend to any 6.7 Powerstroke owner.

Over all it is a good product. better than stock. The Billet housing could have tighter tolerances. Mine wobbles pretty good. I'm afraid as the o-ring wears, I could possibly lose boost pressure. The bigger issue is where the factory sensor plug in. Mine would not stay in place. I had to use RTV to get it to hold with out blowing out.

Components installed on a 2020 F450. Have been monitoring data on a Bank iDash for some time now and thought I had a great running truck with only 22k on the clock. However, after installing both the cold and hot side CAC tubes, I now have a better throttle response and significant increases in boost pressure. These psi gains are at much lower EGTs than ever before. Even seeing 9-10 psi under engine brake on, deceleration conditions, flat Florida ground, with a nominal 18k load. In summary, must have had a leak somewhere with a faulty o-ring and must have picked up flow efficiency with the larger diameter hot side. Either way I think this was money well spent. Will by more from SPE. *Install tip ā add a little of that dielectric grease not only to the o-rings but to the silicon hose ends for much easier installation.
