No Mercy 15 took place recently and the extremely talent-packed event brought out some great competition, and the Firepunk crew was no exception. After a year of dialing in the ProMod Duster, the car put out some great runs, resetting the diesel ProMor record five separate times. Running faster and faster each time, the team put down a 3.94, then a 3.90, a 3.89, a 3.87, with the quickest being 3.85 at 198 MPH. We can't wait to see what the Duster does in 2025!
The 6.0L Powerstroke continues to be pushed further and further. At the recent Hub City Dirt Drags, Austin Denny put down a new horsepower record for the 6.0L at 1931 hp on the Northwest Dyno Series Superflow chassis dyno. The previous record was owned by Charlie Fish at 1820, with Jesse Warren just behind at 1758. These three individuals seem to always be breaking new records with the 6.0. If you're a fan of 6.0's or diesel in general, keep an eye on Austin, Charlie, and Jesse. We'd be willing to bet Austin's record will be broken by one of them, over and over again. Congrats on the new record, Austin. Amazing work pushing this old platform beyond what anyone ever thought was possible.

Pro Stock reached new heights at Virginia Motorsports Park last Friday. Randi Lyn Butner, a PDRA Pro Stock rookie, broke the 3-second barrier with a 3.99 at 176 MPH pass in the 1/8th. Huge congrats to Randi and the entire team at breaking one of the toughest barriers in recent drag racing history. One that has been chased for nearly 12 years.
Last week, we shared the bad news that the National Muscle Car Association and the National Mustang Racers Association would be closing shop. With bad news comes good news. Two classes have just found new homes for the 2025 season. First up is the Nostalgia Super Stock class will continue its run, now with the Nostalgia Drag Racing League. The next class moving on is the Factory Super Cars class, which will find its new home with the Modern Street HEMI Shootout series. The changes will, of course, come with some rule changes; either way, it's great to see the classes staying alive in other ways.

Although not 100% final as SFI still needs to approve them, new rules for the 2025 Outlaw Diesel Super Series have been released. The bulk of the changes look to, in the end, affect Pro classes most. As diesels get faster and faster, things need to change in the name of safety. You can find the current 2025 rulebook here: LINK.
Diesel drag racing has always been challenging regarding safety rules. SFI and NHRA simply never had rules for vehicles as heavy and as fast as we've gotten them through the years, so we always seem to be running the ragged edge of what we're allowed to do. Seeing a large rule change happen is a good thing. It means we're getting faster, and more importantly, it means we'll be getting safer.

It's official: from October 15th through November 15th, 2024, Ford will pay dealers up to $22,500 monthly to order new F150 Lightnings. Many sources claim that Ford is struggling to sell the EV F150, something we can't confirm, but it would make sense based solely on other OE's changes in direction. The incentive given to dealers is based off the following: $1000 per Lightning ordered when total monthly units purchased is under nine. At nine or more, that amount goes up to $1500. The incentive maxes out at 15 units per month, totaling $22,500 in dealer incentives. So, if you're in the market for a Lightning, it looks like there will be some great deals coming real soon.
